Full Home-Based Learning, 8 April to 4 May 2020
Catholic Junior College will shift to full Home-Based Learning (HBL) from 8 April to 4 May 2020, in line with the Multi-Ministry Taskforce's latest efforts to further enhance safe distancing measures.
During the period of full HBL, instructions and support will be provided for students to access a range of both online and hardcopy HBL resources via the School Learning Space (SLS) platform for learning to continue.
As announced by the Minister of Education, Mr Ong Ye Kung, the school-based Mid-Year Examinations will be cancelled. The National examinations (for example, the GCE A-Level Mid-Year Mother Tongue Language and A-Level Examinations), internal End-of-Year examinations such as the JC1 Promotional Examination and JC2 Preliminary Examination will be held with precautionary measures in place.
JC1s' Continual Assessment 1 (CA1) will continue as planned in the form of online graded assignments during the HBL period. The JC2s will have appropriate assessments in Term 3 to guide them in their learning.
The College plans to resume classes on 5 May 2020. The Ministry of Education (MOE) will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation to assess if HBL needs to be extended.
The Ministry of Education (MOE) has suggested some tips for parents/guardians on Home-Based Learning and you can access them here if you would like to find out more.
