Adjustments to Curriculum Hours and Traffic Advisory for J1 and J2 students, 21 Feb

In view of the precautionary measures needed for the day of the release of the GCE A-Level examination results and to avoid social mixing, the following adjustments will be made to the curriculum hours for JC1 and JC2 students for Friday, 21 Feb.

  • All lessons for JC1 and JC2 students will end by 11.00 a.m.  Students are encouraged to leave the college thereafter. There will be no CCAs on 21 Feb afternoon.
  • JC2 students who are collecting their H1 Mother Tongue Language results will report to their respective homerooms by 11.30am and are to leave the college after receiving their results.
  • To reduce social mixing, all JC1 and JC2 students must leave the college premises by 12.00 noon latest.
  • Parents who wish to pick their child/ward up from college must do so before 12 noon
  • After 12 noon, only J3 students collecting their results will be allowed entry into the College premises.

The release of the 2019 GCE A-Level examination results will take place on 21 February 2020 (Friday) at 2.30pm. In view of measures emplaced for DORSCON Orange, the Ministry of Education and the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) are stepping up the precautionary measures to minimise the potential risks from large gatherings to safeguard your health and well-being.

Please read the following information which detail how you will be receiving your results.

Collection of Examination Results

If you are well, you may collect your result slips and certificates in the school from 2.30pm on 21 February 2020. In line with the additional measures that have been implemented in all schools, please declare your travel history and take your temperature before arriving at college. You will be collecting results in a classroom instead of at the Auditorium. Alternatively, you can also access your results online if you prefer not to come to the school.

The college will conduct visual screening, temperature taking and registration of candidates collecting their results upon their entry into college premises from 1.30 pm onwards. Please access this link to declare your travel history.

If you are unwell, on Leave of Absence (LOA) or Quarantine Order (QO) as of 21 February 2020, have recently travelled to Mainland China, or are affected by travel restrictions into Singapore, please do not come to the school. You can access your results online.

Do note that only candidates collecting their results will be allowed entry into the school premises. If you are collecting your result slip in school accompanied by family members, please note that your family members will not be allowed into the school premises in view of the current situation. Your family members may drop you off at the foyer but no waiting in the college premises will be allowed. If you are driving, public parking are available at Toa Payoh Hub.

Candidates who are unable to collect their results in school on 21 Feb can either personally collect their hard copy result slips and certificate from the school when they are able to do so, or authorise their proxies to collect from the CJC General Office (Mon-Fri, 9.00am to 5.00pm), from 24 Feb onwards.  An authorisation letter for proxies can be found here and has to be duly signed and submitted upon collection at the General Office. Your proxy must present his/her identification card for verification purposes. A-level results Authorisation form.pdf

For Singapore Citizens/Singapore Permanent Residents, you can use your SingPass pin. If you are eligible for SingPass but have not activated it, you will receive a SingPass PIN mailer by 19 February 2020. Candidates can visit the SingPass website to find out if they are eligible for SingPass and to activate their Two-Factor Authentication if they have yet to do so. If you are not eligible for SingPass (e.g., International Students), SEAB will provide an email with one-time login details by 19 February 2020.

Digital Certificate for Application to Local Autonomous Universities

Starting from this year, all A-Level candidates, who are Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents, will receive digital certificates in OpenCerts format. These certificates will be available on MySkillsFuture’s Skills Passport from 24 February 2020. If you have SingPass, you can access and submit your digital certificates electronically to the Universities that you are applying to.

International students may send their requests for a digital certificate via email to seab_gce_admin@seab.gov.sg

Applications for admissions and/or scholarships to the local Autonomous Universities (AUs) can be done online. All school candidates who apply to the local AUs online do not need to submit a copy of their A-Level certificates. Due to the COVID-2019 situation, the local AUs will also make alternative arrangements for any assessment for admissions if applicants cannot be physically present.

Education and Career Guidance (ECG)

Students who need guidance on their education options can approach their teachers or Ms Saira, our ECG Counsellor. Students can also refer to the interactive MySkillsFuture portal to find out more about the education options, career pathways and courses that are suited to their strengths, interests and abilities.

Alternatively, students can contact the MOE ECG Centre @ Grange Road from 14 to 28 February 2020 for ECG counselling via email: MOE_ECG@moe.gov.sg or phone: 6831 1420.
